Miceli Earns Atlantic 10 Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week Honors
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Saint Joseph's senior Bella Miceli earned Atlantic 10 Under Armour Defensive Player of the Week honors for the third time this season, announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
The defender produced another stellar performance for the Hawks, helping St. Joe's limit Richmond to just eight goals – the lowest output of the season for the Spiders. Miceli recorded three caused turnovers in the win, closing out the regular season with eight draw controls and five ground balls.
Miceli enters the Atlantic 10 Tournament only seven draw controls shy of becoming the second Hawk to reach 100 draws in a single season. Her 29 caused turnovers are tied for seventh-most in the program's single-season history, tallying 71 in her career on Hawk Hill. Miceli leads the team in caused turnovers, draw controls and ground balls this season, ranking in the top 10 in the Atlantic 10 in all three categories.
