Verch Named Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Men’s Lacrosse Performer of the Year
PHILADELPHIA - Senior All-American Levi Verch from Saint Joseph's was named the 2025 Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Men's Lacrosse Performer of the Year after a vote by the sports information offices of the colleges and universities in the Philadelphia area. Verch headlines the team of 13 student-athletes from 10 different schools who were named to the Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Men's Lacrosse Team for the combination of their academic achievement and athletic accomplishments during the season.
Verch was named an Honorable Mention All-American for a second consecutive year by the USILA, Inside Lacrosse and USA Lacrosse. He is a two-time Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time All-Conference honoree, twice on the First Team. The senior from Victoria, British Columbia was second in the A-10 in caused turnovers with 29, ranking 10th in NCAA Division I. He was also fifth in the conference with 80 ground balls. Overall, he graduates third in SJU history in CT and seventh in GB.
Academically, Verch was a 2023 and 2024 CSC Academic All-District honoree and graduates with a 3.72 GPA, earning a BA in Sports Marketing. He is a nominee for the NACDA Allstate Good Works Team for his efforts in the classroom and community. Verch is part of 4Stop Lacrosse, partnering with various youth lacrosse programs in the Philadelphia area: Gompers, Harlem, Ashbee, Wisslax, Haddonfield, Saanich, Cowichan. The goal of 4Stop Lacrosse is to grow the game, provide gear for underprivileged kids and work locally and globally to serve as an ambassador to the game while providing a positive experience/mentorship. In addition to helping with 4Stop Lacrosse, Verch and the men's lacrosse team have participated in neighborhood clean ups in the West Philly area.
