HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hawks started off strong behind eight early points from Finkley. Delaware hung around, however, pulling to 22-20 midway through the first half.
- SJU took control using a 13-2 run in a span of less than four minutes. Jones had six points in the spurt, hitting from beyond the arc as well as turning in a conventional three-point play.
- After a quick spurt by the Blue Hens, St. Joe's regained command and took a 43-36 lead into halftime.
- UD opened the second half scoring five in a row before a Jones triple and a block leading to an alley oop from Glover-Toscano got the points back for the Hawks.
- Not stopping there, Glover-Toscano had two more blocks leading to a three of his own. On the Blue Hens next trip down the floor, it was Williford with the rejection, that saw Glover-Toscano take the ball the length of the floor ahead of the defense for a finger roll, putting SJU up 53-41.
- Relentless, St. Joe's pushed the run out to 27-7, opening a 70-48 lead on a pair of free throws from Finkley with 8:26 remaining.
