Men’s Cross Country Closes Regular Season with Runner-Up Finish at Haverford

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's men's cross country team wrapped up its regular season on Friday evening at the Haverford Season-Ender.
 
About the Event

  • The Hawks raced over a four-mile course at Haverford College, earning a runner-up finish out of seven teams.
  • All five Hawks placed in the top 16 of the 70-runner field, helping St. Joe's total 39 points to finish just behind Lehigh.
  • Widener, Cheyney, and Swarthmore each had individuals compete but did not field full teams.

How It Happened

  • Noah Deckert led the way for the Crimson and Gray, crossing the line in 19:58.2 to cross the line first among all runners.
  • Ian Romea followed with a strong effort of 20:21.9, while Evan McGregor wasn't far behind, finishing in 20:29.1.
  • Jackson Kane recorded a time of 20:57.6, and Christian Napoli rounded out the scoring five in 21:14.1.

The Hawks head to Cedarville, Ohio next week to take part in the Atlantic 10 Championship at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course. The men's 8K race is set to begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 1.
