PHILADELPHIA – Saint Joseph's graduate student Jorden Concordia and senior Bella Miceli were named two of the 15-member talented student-athletes recognized by area Sports Information Directors as members of the Academic All-Area Team. The group is selected by votes from 30 four-year institutions within the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

To be considered for Academic All-Area recognition, individuals had to have at least a 3.3 GPA. Each honoree was well above that standard. The average GPA for the fifteen student-athletes on the team was 3.81.

Miceli earned IWLCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region Second Team honors after a dominant season in defense, finishing her senior career with Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference honors. The Redding, Conn. native led the Hawks with 103 draw controls, becoming just the second Hawk to reach double-digits in a single season. Miceli also led the team with 31 caused turnovers while adding 36 ground balls and two goals from her role in the Hawk defense. Miceli ended her SJU career ranked third in program history in draw controls (185), fifth in caused turnovers (73) and 10th in games played (69).

Concordia finished her storied career earning Atlantic 10 Second Team All-Conference accolades, leading all active goalkeepers with 731 career saves. The Webster, N.Y. native smashed the school record early in the season, surpassing Brandy Meyers before becoming the only Hawk in program history to reach 700+ saves in a career. Concordia holds three of the top four single-season marks for saves, also becoming the school record-holder with 175 career ground balls. Concordia's 77 games played rank third-most in program history, finishing her career with 10+ wins in each of her four seasons in the cage to end as the winningest goalkeeper in program history (46).
