Eight Tennis Student-Athletes Honored as ITA Scholar-Athletes
TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced its 2024-25 Division I All-Academic Awards on Monday and eight Saint Joseph's men's and women's tennis student-athletes received Scholar-Athlete honors from the organization.
The women's team saw senior Ana Ocasio earn recognition for the fourth consecutive season while classmate Charlotte Kordonowy was feted for the third time. Meanwhile, sophomore Victoria Tracey earned her first Scholar-Athlete honor.
On the men's side, five team members were tabbed, with junior John Butler pulling in his third consecutive honor, while junior Mark Rubin and sophomore Othman Bezzaz earned their second in a row. Senior Eli Gan-Dy also earned his second honor, while freshman Matthew Cizmarik earned his first.
In addition, both squads earned ITA All-Academic Team recognition as well.
In order to qualify as an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must achieve at least a 3.5 grade point average over the course of the academic year. To qualify for All-Academic Team status, a team must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or better for the year.
