Women’s Basketball Announces Signing of Amar Mansour
The Saint Joseph's women's basketball program has announced the signing of rising sophomore Amar Mansour, head coach Cindy Griffin announced Tuesday.
"We are very excited to welcome Amar to our Hawk family!" said Griffin. "Her ability to score, create opportunities for herself and others, and her international playing experience will help our team reach its full potential."
Mansour joins Hawk Hill after competing for Azour Sporting Club in the Lebanese Women's First Division (WLBL), where she earned Second Team All-WLBL honors in the 2025 season. She averaged 13.3 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game while leading her team to a third-place finish in the league. Azour reached the semifinals before falling in a tightly contested five-game series to Homentmen Antelias.
A consistent performer, Mansour scored in double figures in 18 of 21 games during the season. She also notched five double-digit rebounding efforts and three games with 10 or more assists, highlighted by a 20-point, 12-rebound, 11-assist triple-double in the final game of the regular season.
Internationally, Mansour has represented Lebanon at the senior level since 2021. Most recently, she competed at the 2025 FIBA Women's Asia Cup, averaging 9.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists over four games. Mansour turned in a 19-point, seven-rebound and five-assist performance as the Lebanese squad nearly produced the upset of the tournament, falling by four to Japan - which ranked ninth in the world at the time.
Mansour first made her mark at the 2019 West Asia Basketball Association (WABA) U16 Championship, where she led the tournament in both scoring (20.0 ppg) and assists (7.5 apg). The performance helped Mansour rise the international ranks, earning her debut for the senior national team at the 2021 FIBA Women's Asia Cup. Mansour has competed at three Asia Cups with Lebanon, as well an appearance at the 2024 World Cup 2026 Pre-Qualifying Tournament.
Before joining Azour, Mansour spent the 2023–24 season at Missouri Baptist University. As a freshman, she averaged 10.5 points per game and led the Spartans in rebounds (211), assists (141), and steals (46). She earned Third Team All-Conference honors in the American Midwest Conference and was named to both the All-Freshman and All-Academic Teams.
