Cappelletti Signs Guaranteed 2025 Contract with NC Courage
CARY, N.C. – Saint Joseph's alumna Katie Cappelletti has signed a guaranteed contract with the North Carolina Courage of the NWSL for the remainder of the 2025 season the team announced on Thursday.
"Cappy took a chance on herself and chose to invest in her development as a goalkeeper and a professional by staying in our environment as a training player," said NC Courage goalkeeping coach Nathan Thackeray. "She's come in, adapted and applied learning to her game, so when the opportunity came to offer her a spot on our roster, I was delighted for her. She's invested in herself and now she gets to reap the rewards. I look forward to watching her continued growth with us as we try to push her to the next level."
Cappeletti recently finished her final season with the Hawks with a 0.80 goals against average and .870 save percentage, earning Atlantic 10 Goalkeeper of the Year honors. She recorded seven shutouts on the season and led the Hawks to the semifinals of the A-10 tournament.
For her career, the Fayetteville, N.Y. native appeared in 75 matches and was a two-time All-Atlantic 10 honoree. She graduates as the St. Joe's all-time leader in shutouts (22), second in wins (24) and third in save percentage (.807) and goals against average (1.23).
