Men’s Tennis Falls to VCU
RICHMOND, Va. – The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team fell at VCU on Thursday by a 4-1 score.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Matthew Dubas and Santiago Valle won their second-flight doubles match, 6-3, but the Rams ultimately took the point with wins in flights one and three.
• Dubas claimed his second win of the day with a fourth-flight singles win, but VCU took three of the remaining matches to clinch the result. Othman Bezzaz was up a set and a game away from a win in the fifth flight when play was halted.
HAWK TALK
"I'm proud of the guys today," head coach Jeff Puhan said. "They came to battle against the best team in the Atlantic 10. I know it says 4-1, but we were fighting. We're looking forward to tomorrow's matchup against Richmond."
