4x800m Relay Charges to Title as Men's Track Places Eighth at Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships

The Saint Joseph's men's 4x800m relay took gold on Sunday as the Hawks placed eighth at the 2025 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships at George Mason.  The performance was one of five medal-winning showings by the squad, including all three relays.

FAIRFAX, Va. – The Saint Joseph's men's 4x800m relay took gold on Sunday as the Hawks placed eighth at the 2025 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships at George Mason.  The performance was one of five medal-winning showings by the squad, including all three relays.

SATURDAY TRACK RESULTS

  • Michael Glavin opened the championship meet in the 1500m, qualifying with the sixth-fastest time in the field after running a 3:55.00. Brendan Hefferan produced a time of 3:59.67, finishing just outside of a qualifying performance.
  • Despite a personal-best time of 48.94s in the 400m, Jake Carrubba finished just outside of a qualifying time in the prelims.
  • Benjamin Henry became the second Hawk to reach the finals on Sunday, qualifying in the 100m with a time of 10.62s. The sophomore's time was a seasonal best, just .02s ahead of the first competitor to miss out on the finals. Logan Henry finished just .07s off his brother's pace, narrowly missing out with a 12th-place finish. Adam Petersen (10.89s) and Henry Peklo (11.03s) each recorded season-bests in the event.
  • A trio of Hawks earned a spot to the 800m finals on Sunday, Jayden Greene leading the three with a 1:52.16 time as the senior won his heat for the second-best time in the field. Tommy Silvester won the third heat with a time of 1:52.61 to book his spot in the final, while Joshua Thaler qualified with the seventh-fastest time in the field after a 1:52.87 performance.
  • Luke Noss continued to add to the list of Hawks competing in the finals, registering the top time in his heat with a 53.46s effort in the 400m hurdles.
  • Benjamin Henry returned to the track in the 200m, qualifying for his second final of the day after leading his heat with a time of 21.46s.
  • Aidan Doherty registered a personal-best time in the 3000m steeplechase with an effort of 9:29.63.
  • Anthony Gargani wrapped up the opening day with a 31:22.62 time in the 10000m, finishing just shy of a scoring finish with an 11th-place finish.

SUNDAY TRACK RESULTS

  • The 4x800m relay of Greene, Silvester, Thaler, and Tom Barausky rallied from the middle of the pack to claim the top spot, pipping Rhode Island to the finish line by a tenth of a second.
  • The Hawks took second place in the 4x400m relay, with the lineup of Carruba, Benjamin Henry, Noss, and Tomek Przybylak clocking in at 3:12.50.
  • Earlier, the Hawks earned their first podium of the day in the 4x100m relay, the team of Benjamin Henry, Logan Henry, Peklo, and Petersen besting Fordham by .01s as the time of 41.47s earned them third place.
  • Silvester ran a 1:52.03 in the 800m final, just four hundredths of a second off the winning pace, to grab a silver medal.  Greene was third in 1:52.82, while Thaler placed seventh with a time of 1:54.23.
  • In an incredibly tight 200m final, Benjamin Henry just missed a medal with a fourth-place time of 21.41s, 0.11s away from bronze.  His time was less than a quarter of a second behind the winner; just three tenths separated first place from seventh.
  • Noss was just .31s off the podium in the 400m hurdles, placing fourth with a time of 52.70s.
  • Glavin bested his time in the 1500m prelims, but was unable to make up ground to finish with an 11th-place time of 3:53.77 in the finals.
  • Benjamin Henry secured sixth place in the 100m, setting a time of 10.76s to score for the Hawks.
  • Noah Deckert led a trio of Hawks in the 5000m; he ran a 14:44.61 for a 15th-place finish in the field of 36.
