PHILADELPHIA – Saint Joseph's men's soccer head coach Tim Mulqueen announced the addition of 17 players to the 2025 roster.
 
"I couldn't be more excited to welcome this group to our program," said Mulqueen. "Bringing in 17 players gives us a unique opportunity to set a strong foundation and establish our culture from day one. This group is driven and full of energy and I can't wait to hit the ground running."
 
The incoming class brings a strong regional identity to the program, all 11 freshmen playing their high school soccer in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Delaware. Of the six transfers, four either competed at the high school level in the same region or arrive from Atlantic 10 programs.

Jayson Bentum
Defender | 6-1 | Wenonah, N.J.

Background: Graduate of The Pennington School…was a 2024 Trentonian All-Prep First Team and NJISAA Prep A First Team selection…finished the 2024 season 16-1, defeating Hun School of Princeton 6-1 in the championship game to become MJISAA Prep A Champions…helped the team to a 2024 Mid Atlantic Prep League championship and Capelli Woodstock Cup championship…secured 2023 NJ State Prep Championship and National Championship titles, going 15-0 on the season…registered a Mid-Atlantic Prep League championship and earned a Mercer County championship…earned a Mercer County Championship in 2022 before falling in the finals of the NJ State Prep championship game…played in the Mid-Atlantic League in MLS NEXT with Real Futbol Academy…ranked no. 20 for New Jersey region by TopDrawer Soccer…was a 2025 National Academy Championship All-Star selection…earned a spot on the 2024 Best of East Cup All-Star Team…helped Real Futbol Academy to No. 2 in the MLS NEXT U19 Power Rankings…heled concede the fewest goals in the Mid-Atlantic Division.

Background: Graduate of Caravel Academy…was a three-year captain for his team…a three-time All-State selection, earning First Team honors in 2024 (Second Team, 2022; Third Team, 2021)…named First Team All-Conference in 2021, 2022 and 2024…helped Caravel to back-to-back Delaware Division II State Championships in 2021 and 2022…played for Sporting Athletic Club in MLS NEXT…also played for Sporting Delaware ECNL from 2020-22…team member of the ODP Delaware program from 2021-23…earned a Dallas Cup title, starting in all six tournament games.

Background: Graduate of Southern Regional High School…scored 30 goals and added four assists in 25 games in the 2024 season, named SSI, NJ A-South and NJ State Player of the Year…was named to the First Team for the NJ A-South, All-County, All-Shore and All-State teams…helped Southern Regional to the first NJ Group IV State Championship in program history after earning NJ Group IV Sectional Championship honors…played club for Jersey Shore Boca FC in the U19 APSL…scored 17 goals and added five assists in 12 games.

Background: Graduate of St. Benedict's Prep…made a start in 14 of 15 games on the season…helped St. Benedict's earn a 100-game unbeaten streak…part of a team that was ranked No. 1 nationally for 15 weeks, scoring 93 goals as a team and conceding just six in 15 games…scored four goals and provided eight assists on the season…finished runner-up in New Jersey Prep A Tournament…was at Union High School the prior two seasons, scoring 16 goals and adding five assists in 26 games…was a two-time First Team All-Conference and All-County selection at Union, earning Second Team All-State honors in both years…played club soccer with Cedar Stars Academy…was the team's top goalscorer in 2024 with 31 goals and eight assists in 39 games…secured USYS National, USYS Eastern Regionals and New Jersey State Cup U19 titles.
