Vaughn, Douglas Join Women's Basketball Staff
PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's women's basketball head coach Cindy Griffin announced the addition of Mikayla Vaughn and Sarah Douglas to the staff on Friday morning.
Vaughn joins as a graduate manager after spending the past four years playing professionally overseas, with stops at Limonta Sport Costa Masnaga (Italy), Basket Namur Capitale (Belgium), Enea AZS Politechnika Poznan (Poland), and the Southside Flyers Dandenong (Australia). Following her graduation, she also joined the Minnesota Lynx for preseason before beginning her professional career abroad.
A standout forward at Notre Dame, Vaughn appeared in 80 career games with the Fighting Irish, earning 36 starts across four seasons. In her career, Vaughn registered 506 points while shooting nearly 57 percent from the field. She was consistently one of the best defensive players on the squad, finishing with 343 rebounds, 85 blocks and 59 steals in her career. A native of Philadelphia, Vaughn was part of two Notre Dame squads that advanced to the national championship game, highlighted by the 2017–18 team that captured the title. She appeared in six games that season before an ACL injury cut her freshman campaign short. Returning the following year, Vaughn played a key role off the bench during the Irish's 2018–19 run to the NCAA final, making 38 appearances and contributing important performances in the postseason, including nine points and a career-high 11 rebounds in the First Round against Bethune-Cookman.
Douglas, a 2024 graduate of Indiana University, joins the staff as a graduate assistant. She earned her bachelor's degree in sports marketing and management and served as a marketing intern with Indiana Athletics, where she was responsible for in-game promotions across multiple sports, fan engagement initiatives, event setup, and the operation of Daktronics equipment across various events.
Following graduation, Douglas worked in professional sports with the Philadelphia Union of Major League Soccer. As a member of the Union's inside sales team, she focused on group ticket sales and experiences while also contributing to the execution of game day events at Subaru Park.
A Valparaiso, Indiana native, Douglas is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration (MBA) while continuing to build her career in athletics.
