FAIRFAX, Va. – The men's 4x100m relay team broke the school record on Saturday as the Saint Joseph's men's track team completed a two-day meet on Saturday in the Dalton Ebanks Invitational, hosted by George Mason.
FRIDAY TRACK RESULTS
- Luke Noss opened the action on the track in the 400m hurdles, finishing with a time of 54.97s to place seventh.
- Freshman Tommy Silvester placed ninth in the 800m with a time of 1:51.26, leading a group of nine Hawks in the event while setting a PR. Shortly following the rookie, Jayden Greene (1:51.78) and Tomek Przybylak (1:51.80) were separated by just .02s. Przybylak set a new PR with his time. A trio of Hawks in Joshua Thaler (1:52.26), Graham Phillips (1:52.40) and Elijah Smith (1:52.50) went back-to-back-to-back crossing the finish. Phillips bested his PR by .23s, while Smith shaved nearly .75s off his previous best. Tom Barausky finished with a time of 1:53.91 as junior Immanuel Rota-Talarico (1:54.32) and freshman Chris Manzo (1:54.60) rounded out the event by each setting new PRs.
- Ryan Cichocki produced a top-half finish in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:24.86, besting his previous-low time by nearly 10 seconds. Aidan Doherty followed with a 9:44.45 finish.
- Anthony Gargani and Colton Johnson earned fourth and ninth, respectively, to close out Friday's events in the 5000m with times of 14:40.08 and 14:51.27.
FRIDAY FIELD RESULTS
- Logan Henry finished eighth in the long jump, his best effort of 6.69m coming on his fourth attempt.
SATURDAY TRACK RESULTS
- The Saint Joseph's 4x100m relay team of Adam Petersen, Benjamin Henry, Henry Peklo and Logan Henry opened Saturday by setting a new school record, breaking a 16-year-old record set in 2009 while finishing third.
- The 4x800m relay team followed, cruising to a first-place finish by more than 16 seconds with the team of Barausky, Manzo, Smith and Silvester clocking in a 7:35.65.
- B. Henry notched a podium finish in the 400m, one-tenth of a second off of second place, posting a 48.08s time. Darren Cammauf (49.53s) and Jake Carrubba (49.65s) were separated by just .12s. Another Hawk tandem in James Mackey Jr. and Regent Walden produced times just .06s apart at 51.02s and 51.08s, respectively.
- L. Henry was fastest of three Hawks competing in the 100m, setting a new personal record with time of 10.95s. Petersen (11.04s) and Peklo (11.06s) finished two-hundredths of a second apart from each other, each setting their previous bests as well.
- Two pairs of squads entered the 4x400m relay, earning second and seventh place in the event. The team of Noss, Carrubba, Cammauf and B. Henry produced a 3:12.59 time to take second in the relay. Mackey, Manzo, Smith and Walder finished with a time of 3:20.28.
- Michael Glavin led a large contingency in the 1500m, placing seventh with a time of 3:52.44 to produce a four-second PR. Josh Forrest followed closely behind with a new personal-best of 3:52.68 to take 10th, while the trio of Brendan Hefferan (3:53.46), Noah Deckert (3:53.56) and Matt Hoffman (3:54.06) finished back-to-back-to-back. The freshman duo of Hefferan each recorded PRs in the event. Dawson Baptiste and Anton Bovone each yielded top half results with 3:58.52 and 3:59.59 times, respectively. The pair each recorded their first sub-four minute performance in the event to set PRs. Eli Stoudt rounded out the squad with a time of 4:11.26.
UP NEXT
The Hawks return to action next weekend, staying within the state to take part in the Bison Outdoor Classic. Action is slated to start Friday, April 11.
