HOW IT HAPPENED

  • After a couple of shots were saved by the Rider keeper the Hawks broke through at the quarter hour mark. Fisher delivered a perfect through ball for Hanrahan who took one step to her right and buried her shot into the upper 90.
  • Saint Joseph's doubled the lead at the end of the 33rd minute when Newton punched home her first goal of the season, rifling home a shot from just inside the top of the box past the keeper off a perfect feed from Vicari.
  • Less than two minutes into the second half, St. Joe's struck again. Hanrahan served in a corner that was headed out of the mixer by Anderson to the right of the keeper for a 3-0 lead.
