The 15th-ranked Saint Joseph's field hockey team came from behind to beat Delaware, 2-1, on a rainy Wednesday afternoon at Ellen Ryan Field.

MERION STATION, Pa. – The 15th-ranked Saint Joseph's field hockey team came from behind to beat Delaware, 2-1, on a rainy Wednesday afternoon at Ellen Ryan Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Delaware (3-5) got on the board first as Alexa Michielsen's shot was initially stopped by the Hawks' Paige Kieft, but deflected up and into the cage for the game's first goal.

Erika Culp drew Saint Joseph's (5-3) level with 1:14 to go in the first half, shoveling the rebound of an Adèle Jardemar shot past the Blue Hens' Kristi Merashoff and into the net for her first of the season.

• The Hawks went in front six minutes into the third quarter as Jardemar sent a ball in on a corner that Ava Smith tipped into the cage for a 2-1 lead.

• The Hawks would then hold the Blue Hens to just one shot in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE
