#15 Field Hockey Falls to Louisville, 2-0

The Saint Joseph's field hockey team suffered its first home defeat of the season on Sunday, falling to Louisville by a 2-0 score at Ellen Ryan Field.

MERION STATION, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's field hockey team suffered its first home defeat of the season on Sunday, falling to Louisville by a 2-0 score at Ellen Ryan Field.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Louisville (5-3) opened the scoring midway through the first quarter as Annabel Sep converted on a penalty corner.
 
• Another corner with just under three minutes to play in the second led to a deflected goal by Tyler Everslage to double the lead.
 
• Saint Joseph's (4-3) had a large share of the possession throughout the second half and outshot the Cardinals, 5-0, in the fourth quarter, but could not find a goal.
 
BEHIND THE BOX SCORE
• The Hawks held an 18-8 advantage in shots and a 13-5 edge in corner opportunities.
 
• Emily Young made seven saves for Louisville, while Paige Kieft made one for SJU.
 
• Sunday's game was the first between the two programs.
