Women’s Track Names Four to CSC Academic All-District Team

Saint Joseph's track and field student-athletes Ava Curry, Majken Lutzen, Tess Crossan, and Madison Buddenbohn have been named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced.

The CSC Academic All-District Teams recognize student-athletes for their combined excellence in academic and athletic performance. Honorees are selected by members of the organization.
 
Buddenbohn earned All-District Team honors a strong season in distance events. The Edgewood, Md. native posted the 38th-fastest 10,000m time in the region, clocking a personal best 38:09.31 at the A-10 Outdoor Championships. She also recorded a career-best 6k time of 22:50.7 at the Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championships.
 
Curry capped her collegiate career with a gold medal in the 1500m at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships, clocking a time of 4:24.38 - just three-tenths of a second off her personal best. The Mendham, N.J. native also debuted in the 5000m at the championship, finishing eighth to score in both events. Curry was part of the record-setting distance medley relay squad at the Penn Relays, where the team posted a program-best time of 11:32.39. Indoors, she earned a bronze medal in the 1000m at the A-10 Championships and was named to the All-Eastern Team following strong performances at the ECAC Championships. In the fall, Curry placed 11th at the A-10 Cross Country Championships to earn All-Conference honors and later set a personal best in the 6k to finish 32nd at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships.
 
Lutzen, a standout sophomore, etched her name into the Saint Joseph's record books three times during the outdoor season. The Copenhagen, Denmark native set a new program record in the 800m with a time of 2:07.33 and was part of two school-record relay squads at the Penn Relays—contributing to both the distance medley relay (11:32.39) and 4x800m relay (8:43.95) teams. At the A-10 Outdoor Championships, Lutzen placed fourth in the 800m and helped the Hawks secure a silver medal in the 4x800m. She added a fourth-place finish in the 800m and a silver in the 4x400m relay at the ECAC Outdoor Championships, earning All-Eastern Team honors.
 
Crossan joined Curry and Lutzen on the record-breaking DMR team and also ran on the 4x800m squad that set a school record at the Penn Relays. The Collegeville, Pa. native set the indoor 800m program record with a 2:09.30 performance at the Scarlet and White Invite. She went on to claim two podium finishes at the A-10 Indoor Championships, placing third in the 800m and earning a silver medal in the 4x800m relay. Crossan and her teammates struck gold at the ECAC Indoor Championships in the 4x800m, earning her a spot on the All-Eastern Team. She added bronze in the 800m and silver in the 4x800m at the A-10 Outdoor Championships, followed by a pair of silver medals in the 800m and 4x400m relay at the ECAC Outdoor Championships.
