Men's Rowing Competes At Bergen Cup

How It Happened
• Saint Joseph's Varsity 8 battled through strong headwinds as it completed the course in 6:32.5 to finish fourth in its race.
• The Hawks' 2nd Varsity 8 crossed the finish lin in 6:57.6 to place fourth in its event.
• St. Joe's 3rd Varsity 8 clocked a time of 6:51.4, less than two seconds behind Temple to earn a fourth-place finish.

"The Bergen Cup is a great Schuylkill River rivalry! We know that the winners in each event at the Bergen Cup will be in contention for medals at the Dad Vail in May. This race always gives us a measure of the speed needed to compete at high level. Hats off to Temple and Drexel for winning races today," said St. Joe's head coach Mike Irwin. "Conditions were similar to the Kerr Cup last weekend and the boats that could power through the winds in the first 1500m held on to win. The Hawks have two weeks to prepare for Dad Vail and we are excited for the challenge of championship racing in May!"
