Women's Soccer Announces 2025 Schedule
PHILADELPHIA – Head coach Jess Manella of the Saint Joseph's women's soccer team announced the squad's 2025 schedule on Tuesday. The 18-match slate includes multiple local rivalries as well as contests against traditional powerhouses in their conferences.
The Hawks open with a pair of games on the road, starting the season on Thursday, Aug. 14 in Hempstead, N.Y. at Hofstra. The Pride has been a regional power during the past decade, advancing to the NCAA tournament in five of the last eight seasons. That game is followed up with a contest against another CAA opponent as SJU travels to West Philadelphia to face Drexel on Aug. 21.
Four matches in a row at Sweeney Field are next to close out August and open September. St, Joe's has its home opener on Sunday, Aug. 24, hosting St. John's at 1:00 p.m. Rider (Aug. 28), Towson (Aug. 31) and Temple (Sept. 4) conclude the stretch. Staying local, the Hawks go to University City on Sept. 11 to face Penn. The non-conference slate wraps with a trip to FDU on Sept. 14.
Atlantic 10 play gets underway with Alumni Day and Youth Day on Saturday, Sept. 20 against Rhode Island. Saint Joseph's then alternates two games on the road and at home through the end of the season. SJU travels to the site of its 2024 A-10 quarterfinal victory, Fordham, on Sept. 25 with a trip to VCU on Sept. 28. October begins with a pair of contests at Sweeney Field, facing Davidson (Oct. 2) and Saint Louis (Oct. 5). Next up is a trip to Dayton (Oct. 11) and St. Bonaventure (Oct. 16).
Senior Day comes up on Oct. 19 against Duquesne followed by Fill The Hill against Richmond on Oct. 23 in the final home contest of the year. The regular season closes at George Mason on Oct. 26.
The 2025 Atlantic 10 Championship First Round is on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 with the semifinals and finals on Nov. 5 and 9, respectively. All matches will be hosted by the higher seed.
